Q. How do I play online? A. When you first select "multiplayer", you'll be prompted to insert your user name and password.
The first time, you need to Register. Here's a step-by-step Guide to Registration.
Then you'll need to login to play. Here's a step-by-step First Login.
After that, you'll just click/tap "MULTIPLAYER" from the main menu.

Q. I'm not able to host (create new) matches: what can I do? A. BANG! connects the players directly, so you'll need to enable incoming connections to your computer/device.
Some antivirus/firewall software and some routers/NAT systems prevent incominv connections by default.
Make sure you enable incoming connections to your computer by disabling Firewall/Antivirus software when you use BANG! (most such software allows to permanently specify an exeption for a particular program).
Also, make sure your router/NAT allows incoming connection. More technically, you'll need port 2020 to be "forwarded". For more information on port forwarding check www.portforward.com.

Q. I'm having connection trouble. What can I do? A. BANG! connects the players directly, so a sporadic connection issue may depend on the connection between you and the host of the match.
Also make sure that you don't have any antivirus/firewall software preventing BANG! from accessing the Internet.

Q. One of the players disconnected while dead, and it came back to life as a CPU. A. This is a synchronization problem. When a player hosts a match, all others are synchronized with that player.
If the host disconnects during the game, several games disconnect all other players, instead BANG! provides host migration, but, in such cases, it may cause sync-loss and the game may revert to a previous state.
This doesn't happen if the host stays connected or if the hosts disconnects at the beginning of a turn.
So, while we work on a fix, we recommend those who host a game to avoid abrupt disconnection: if you're a host and want to disconnect, please do so at the beginning of the following turn.

Q. I want to play with few friends only, what can I do? A. One effective way to play with your friends is to use a password-protected match. To do so, the creator of the match must check and insert the "password" box. After creating the match, the host must tell the password to the other players and they can choose "custom", check and insert the same password and then search. In some cases, it may still be impossible to play together due to network problems (not all hosts are always reachable by others on the Internet).

Q. What is the three-wired-hats icon that appears close to my character? A. That icon means that your connection is slow or has narrow bandwidth. If you see this often, you may be disconnected: if you're using BANG! from a mobile device, please move to a place with better Internet access; if you get this at home, please check your wi-fi signal or network wiring.
If you see this icon often, you are not recommended to host (create new) games and you should better just join other players games.

Q. How do I send emoticons? A. To send an emoticon, click/tap and hold on a character's face (including yours) and the emoticons will appear. Select one and you'll send it.

Installation & technical issues

Q. I have problems with activation, what do I do? A. When you run BANG!, after clicking on "Play now", click on "I have a serial number". Then enter the License Key (serial number) you received in your order confirmation e-mail and activate the product online (automated). If you have problems doing this, please make sure you don't have any firewall blocking the software. If you still have problems, we will assist you for a manual procedure.

Q. Can I use BANG! (PC) on more than one computer? A. The License Key (serial number) received can be used to activate the game on two computers, but only one will be able to play online at any given time.

Q. On PC, the game stops with an error when I click on "Tutorial" or "Single Player" A. As stated in the requirements, the game needs OpenGL, which is often not present by default on pre-installed Windows 7 machines: Windows Update usually solves the problem. Otherwise the display driver must be updated through the videocard vendor's website or through the computer vendor's website. Otherwise, try to run the game from your Start Menu in "compatibility mode".

Q. Will the PC version update automatically or you release some patch to download? A. Every PC user will receive an e-mail message with the link to the updated installer. Note: BANG! supports Windows Error Reporting: users who experience crashes will be able to send reports directly to the developers through Microsoft and be notified by the system when a solution is available.

General

Q. What languages is BANG! available in? A. BANG! is available in 5 languages: English, French, German, Italian and Spanish - in Windows, the language can be chosen through the "gears" icon from the main screen, on other platforms, it's selected automatically depending on the system preferences.

Q. I want to play BANG! On my Atom Netbook: what about it? A. An optimized version of BANG! for Windows-based Atom Netbooks is available on AppUp.

Q. On the PC version store a 1,00 € VAT is indicated. Is this an extra fee? A. NO EXTRA charge is added. The 1,00 € VAT is included in the list price and it is NOT added to it. It is there just as a specification for legal purposes.

Q. Will a Mac version be there? And an Android one? And other platforms? Consoles? A. We hope to bring BANG! On as many platforms as possible; stay tuned to www.bangvideogame.com for updates! A console version is under development, too.

Q. What does Multicross mean? A. Until now, cross-platform interaction was either limited to just two (similar) platforms (e.g. PC vs Console) or complementary (not the full experience on both devices) or done through layers (e.g. Flash, Java or the web) that imply some sort of compromise. In our case, each platform gets native code and native, optimized graphics, but doesn't have to care about what platform the other players have. So, you can have (e.g.) five players from five different platforms in the same game session!

Q. Do the iPhone/iPad versions differ from the PC/Atom Netbook versions? A. The PC and Atom Netbook versions will automatically get some of the expansions that will be for sale on other platforms.

Q. What about game expansions (cards and characters)? A. The release schedule for expansions in the videogame is different from the card game. Dodge City expansion playable cards (green, brown, blue cards) are included for free. More expansions are being released progressively. They may include additional game cards and new characters. The packaging will be more flexible than the original card game and allow more choice for the user. The developers are also considering special add-ons created only for the videogame.

Q. I have a card in my hand, but I don't know what it does. A. Click on the card and hold down the mouse button (or tap and hold on touch devices): the full card description appears in the help bar at the top of the screen.

Q. Will there be a log feature? A. We are working on it.

Q. Can I skip full-screen animations automatically? A. Yes. Full screen animations can be disabled in the options panel ("gears" icon).

Sometimes I play CAT BALOU or PANIC! on myself - is this intended, what happens? A. Yes. The official rules allow CAT BALOU, PANIC! and similar card to be played on self. You play them on yourself if you drag them to the center of the table - this rule is disabled in Easy Mode.

How do I play the Barrel in Normal Mode? A. Barrel is automatic in Easy Mode. In Normal Mode, you have to click on the main deck to use your barrel. It is intentionally tricky, so you have to remember it, just like you would do with the original card game. The operation is explained in the description of the Barrel card (tap/click and hold).

Q. Will you keep track of my design/gameplay suggestions? A. Of course we will do. As players ourselves, Players' feeback is strategic for us as well as welcome.
